Adam had an apple
He found it in the grass
He washed it at a fountain
He brought it into class

Then when it was lunchtime
He took the apple out
He put it on the table
Then he gulped with doubt…because

Adam’s apple made a sound
It could not have been too loud
When Adam looked around
No one else seemed to be freaked out

Adam ate his sandwich
His Giggles cookies too
He squeezed his little juice box
But he still wasn’t through

He stared at his apple
It stared back at him
Adam had to get to
The core of the problem

Adam looked at Stacy
The girl he kind of liked
She was eating an apple
He knew he had to bite

Adam took his apple
Bit into its skin
It tasted kind of funny
He chewed while Stacy grinned

He swallowed the apple
It went down the pipe
His stomach made a rumble
A noise came from inside

And that's when
Adam's stomach made a sound
It could not have been too loud
When little Adam looked around
