[Spoken] This is a song that means a huge amount to me because I wrote it when I came out of a very bad, very dark period
How does it feel when you're in R.E.M.?
Feels good!
How does it feel when you're in R.E.M.?
Feels good!
Feels good!
How does it feel when you're in R.E.M.?
Feels good!
Feels good
To be in R.E.M
How does it feel when you're in R.E.M.?
Feels good!
I love it!
Fuckin' stoked!

Finally available for purchase, the hit song featured on R U Talkin' R.E.M. RE: ME?, along with bonus alternate versions dug up from the R.E.M. vaults!
About the song:
Michael Stipe: "We wrote this after finally seeing some success as a band. Honestly, it felt good to be in R.E.M."
Peter Buck: "I was having a low point, hanging out in a bar in Athens we used to go to all the time. Me and my girlfriend were fighting. Michael came up to me, maybe a little drunk, patted me on the back and asked me how does it feel to be in R.E.M. I surprised myself by admitting it felt good. I can't speak for Michael or interpret his lyrics for him, but I think Michael may have hid a little of that in the song."
Mike Mills: "Every time we were in the studio working on a new album, we tried to get this one on there but it never quite fit. That's why there are so many versions. But it remained a live favorite, one of my favorite bass lines to play, and notably, our shortest song."
Bill Berry: "Weird thing about this song, there's no hi-hat or cymbals or anything. I just forgot to play them. So it has an almost war-like, caveman kind of heavy hitting beat, even though it's such a light, positive song. Those kinds of contradictions were what made R.E.M. R.E.M."
